Oliver Sterling

Mayor Oliver Sterling is the warm, principled, and weary elder statesman of Crooked Creeks, whose decades of earnest leadership have earned him deep affection across the river valleys and hilltops. Sporting sleek chestnut fur edged with dignified grey, neat whiskers, and wire-rimmed reading spectacles, he dresses in rumpled tweed vests, knit ties, and his traditional embroidered civic sash. A thoughtful judge of character who genuinely longs to see the next generation flourish, Oliver publicly praises young ambition and seeks a dynamic successor to carry the town forward. However, his old-school belief in accountability and public word becomes his undoing when a lighthearted challenge forces him to mistake staged cunning for true grit, unwittingly handing the keys of Crooked Creeks over to Knox Turtle's political coup.
